I am looking for a Virtual Machine program such as Virtual Box.

Why? I mean, do you have any specific problem with VBox? Hardware resources? Software issue? Or do you mean you are just searching for alternatives and you don't know any? Or is it that you don't know how to install it? Or maybe you are looking not for the software but for a specific VM ready to be used?

Please clarify.

I was wanting to try out Linux From Scratch just for learning purposes (not for a usable system) and was wanting to give it a try inside a virtual machine right from my Salix desktop.

VirtualBox is available from slapt-src / Sourcery. It's worth reading the instructions carefully before installing, and also searching this forum. I have trouble with it every time that I could have avoided by doing those things.

It may be easier to install the precompiled binary - one experienced user (laprjns) posted about this recently. Just search the forum and you'll find the link.
