DeVeDe
Re: DeVeDe
How did you do this? Just want to get sure what you've done and if the packages are wrong.
Re: DeVeDe
this is what I did, I went and downloaded only the sources from here
devede-3.16.8.tar.bz2
dvdauthor-0.6.18.tar.gz
vcdimager-0.7.23.tar.gz
then I compiled every single one and then I installed them in the order that I have here, then I launched devede and it is working, in fact I just made a home dvd video from 3 avi files.

Packages can be obtained here:

Re: DeVeDe
EDIT: spumux is part of dvdauthor package and the depfile misses graphicsmagick.thorsten[~]$ spumux
spumux: error while loading shared libraries: libGraphicsMagick.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
PS: can I install imagemagick and graphicsmagick side by side?
Re: DeVeDe
Yes. We even had graphicsmagick in 13.0.thenktor wrote:PS: can I install imagemagick and graphicsmagick side by side?
Re: DeVeDe
I built DeVeDe for myself (32- and 64-bit) some time ago but didn't do it to SalixOS packaging standards. I may have to redo them and contribute them if I find the time. It is the best DVD authoring package I've found.

I used to use it a lot when I had to burn movies to play on the DVD player
a package would be nice

Re: DeVeDe
This tool is fantastic, feels a lot more 'sturdy' than DVDAuthor, despite not having as many fancy menu-building features.
Re: DeVeDe
I'll try to add it to our repositories once we get a current tree.
Meanwhile I tested it 3 weeks ago before going on holiday and noticed that it would create broken menus without a patch to dvdauthor.
Those are the latest packages which worked at least for me:
64-bit:
http://gaia.homelinux.org/salix/package ... 64-2ab.txz
http://gaia.homelinux.org/salix/package ... 64-1ab.txz
http://gaia.homelinux.org/salix/package ... 64-1ab.txz
32-bit:
I've got no updated 32-bit build of dvdauthor
BTW any estimates when we'll get a current repository? I'm asking because I'd like to spread the (re-)building work a bit especially as I'm heading towards my leaving exams.

Still too early for that.Shador wrote:BTW any estimates when we'll get a current repository? I'm asking because I'd like to spread the (re-)building work a bit especially as I'm heading towards my leaving exams.
Re: DeVeDe
The working packages are finally in the 13.1 repo. Just installing devede pulls also it's deps vcdimager and dvdauthor and possibly some others.
Thanks to the small but crucial patch to dvdauthor, devede should be creating properly working menus. I didn't burn a dvd it with the slightly changed and uploaded packages yet.
