Last week I switched from Debian to Salix and I like Salix very much. I use the map program Qlandkarte (link: http://www.qlandkarte.org/index.php?opt ... 3&Itemid=4
) for my bycicle GPS. Making tracks and routes to upload to my GPS. But I cannot find the QlandkarteGT package. I tried to get it, but I don't know enough about the instructions and I got stuck in configure/make etc. Could you please make QlandkarteGT available as a package in Salix. I would much appreciate it.

Here you go, give these a try. Seem to work here, but I don't have the equipment or knowledge to fully check it out. You need to install all three packages and possible qt. If there is anything missing let me know.

That was fun, first time with cmake for me! One of the developers may want to take a look at the SLKBUILDs and see if I did anything wrong. I'll post for inclusion to repository once I know that it works

your SLKBUILD looks ok, but your qlandkarte package is missing an icon in /usr/share/icons/hicolor and perhaps the icon entry in the desktop file is wrong, too (did not check it).

I will fix that tonight but in the mean time maybe anttel can still test the packages to make sure they work.

Thank you for your reply, but since I'm just a linux beginner:
- I downloaded the *.txz files
- how do I install these files?

well, I installed the packages and QT with gslapt. qlandkarte starts but stops with the next message:
qlandkartegt: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
What should I do now?
I checked with gslapt, the libjpeg package is installed

These packages are built for 13.1, not 13.0.

I installed salixlive on my laptop. Is this 13.0? How can I go from 13.0 to 13.1? Do I have to make a fresh install with a newer version of Salix?

Yes, that is 13.0, as there is no 13.1 live CD yet. You can either follow the instructions in the wiki to upgrade, or do a fresh install from the 13.1RC1 (and soon 13.1 final) installation CD. Or stay with 13.0 and try to build the packages yourself.
