sorry, I am a new linux user. so forgive me if my question is so amateurish. during slackware installation PV says that huge.s kernel is suitable for old hardware. slackware installs all huge and generic kernels (s and smp) on hd and then let you choose which kernel is used for booting the system.
so, why salix just uses huge.s kernel?
what is the pros and cons of huge.s?
how to install and use generic kernel?

You should get your facts straight first. Slackware installs both (if you select a FULL installation), but it doesn't let you choose. It uses the huge kernels.

After you have installed the system and after you have already booted the huge kernel, you can create an initrd yourself and switch to the generic kernel. You can't just use the generic kernel without an initrd you have created yourself and is specific to your PC and your installation.

The same reason Slackware does. It works with all hardware and it should be the default kernel.

It works with all hardware without the user having to create an initrd. It consumes a little more bit of RAM that generic does. That's it.

If you're asking about how to install packages, I refer you to the startup guide, linked from the main page.

After you have installed the kernel packages you want, use the exact same procedure as you would do with Slackware.

What are you talking about? If you are using the huge.s kernel it is only because you specifically requested to do so during installation. And it takes real effort to do it, so it cannot happen just by accident. The default kernel is the smp kernel in the 32bit edition. The huge.s kernel is not even included in the installation medium with the xfce and mate editions.
