I want to use Steam to play some games. But Steam is an i686 app, and I am on Salix64 14.2. Does Slackware multilib work on Salix?

Salix is Slackware! It's just simpler for us ordinary users. Salix is fully compatible with Slackware. Any Slackware software will run on Salix.

Yes, you can use alienbob's mutlilib repo, however, you will be discouraged from doing so and accept the risk even though its minimal. In other words if you add the repo don't complain here that something broke or didn't work.

PS: I have aliens mulitlib working on this box since my brother printer requires 32bit to work properly. Make sure you set it as "custom" in slapt-getrc/gslapt.
PSS: gapan usually recommends a chroot for 32bit environment.
