Indeed, PII onward is just fine, with isa support, as in Slackware kernel.
In other words, we are fine just like it is right now in Slackware current.

i686 is fine for me, but George want's to use his old Pentium machine with our distribution
For pre i686 there are special distributions, e.g.

ISA is
really outdated for desktop computers nowadays. If you want to use such old stuff you should consider a distribution, that is made for this task.
ISA slots may be absent, ISA is still present in some form on modern motherboards, if I am not mistaken.
