I don't think we'll be able to use it for distributing ISOs, or for package repo, but there are so many things we could use and they come for free!

svn repo: we could use it for our home-grown salixtools and other stuff like that (lilofix, liveinstall)
bug tracker: There are many options, Trac and Mantis among them. I already enabled trac: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/salix/
wiki: mediawiki based here: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/salix. Maybe it's not needed to run it on our own server (cutting server costs). The only drawback is the sourceforge header (which is not a problem at all for me) I think. Trac is also a wiki, so maybe we could just use trac.
forums: sourceforge provide a phpbb forum. If we don't mind the sourceforge header, we could use that too: http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/salix/
blog: wordpress is available if we want to start a blog.
and several other goodies...
