DING

Post by wingevil »

For me a very useful little tool

DING --> Dictionary Lookup de-en

simple, fast, bulky database --> recommended :D

http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~fri/ding/

To install it, wish from tcl must be installed first.

http://dict.leo.org

http://dict.cc

Google/Babelfish/Altavista/Abacho ... each has its own translator online.

Why another dictionary? Only DE/EN available?

This is the oppinion of the author, it does not force you to share and is signed automatically.
You are free to keep them all errors for your own. Linux is the best game I ever played.

I got a PM with a question about how to install ding and wish, so I'll answer here, too:
wish is part of the tk package so install tcl and tk: slapt-get -i tcl tk

I still use and love Steak used from a terminal, eng>de, de>eng. Unfortunately, it seems it is not maintained any longer.

Old site:

http://www.tm.informatik.uni-frankfurt. ... steak.html

May be someone can find a new version?
