Hi zAchAry :)

Well, from what i can gather,TMP is a private third party company subcontracted to enforce DRM violations ..ie if you download copyrighted material illegally three times they make an application to your ISP to ban your IP address, this also goes on a database so it make your chances of moving to another ISP a little more difficult.

The French authorities introduced the HADOPI law, which was partially blocked by opposition parties and pressure groups and eventually amended to its current form.I guess you could argue they make original bills draconian because they know they will have to yield to these amendments, and it also means they can squeeze in a few less obvious small print.
The authorities were meant to enforce this bill, but as usual..the rhetoric for small government and maybe that they had friends on the board of TMP,it was subcontracted out.TMP then suffered a few data breaches, which i would extrapilate as 'if you sell confidential customer data to marketing companies it always easier to pretend you were attacked by 14 year old hackers...after all ..not that many people are mugged for their mobile phones, but its a great way to upgrade' :P

Anyway, there will be a TMG by another name in your country,TMP is mainly based in Central Europe...people do good things for bad reasons, and bad things for good reasons...you could argue that The Bill Gates Foundation is doing lots of good things in Africa ..or that its used to dump repackaged obsolete medicines and promote biotech and the fact Africa is the only continent that is not losing market share to Linux.

TMP has a website http://tmg.eu/sitetmg.html i leave it to your independent thinking ;)

Happy hunting :)

Edit-Not sure why i keep calling them TMP :? its a pretty unconscious thing..maybe im not entirely convinced of the 'guard' ...wonder what i mean by the 'p' :?:

This is absolutely arrogant and bizarre!

I would be glad if they will really try to enforce it, because once they do, music at afmusic, Bandcamp, Jamendo, Kahvi Collective, Mininova and many other great music websites, will become prevalent.

Off Topic:
By the way, do you genuinely believing that Bill Gates is helping Africa?
Did you know that he is using some vaccines (test stage) that makes you feel bad and the fastest way to get cured is by using another vaccine or medicine mad by a company which belongs to Bill and to his Saudi friends?

And also Canada, Europe and the USA are doing much to prevent independence, innovation and electricity in Africa using bad puppet politicians in Africa?

Examples:
Before RASCOM (The Regional African Satellite Communication Organization), all of the nations in Africa paid, annually (each year), a general/global fee of 500 billion dollars to use satellites of EU countries.
Libya was one of the poorest countries in the world in 1951. Before the NATO invasion, Libyans (according to the damned UN, no less!) enjoyed the highest standard of living in Africa and ahead of Saudi Arabia, Brazil and even Russia. Central Bank was owned by the state of The Socialist (Capitalist, IMHO) Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and issues interest free money (%0 interest) and was thriving. The national debt was 0. No Taxes for local activities! They were about to implement a gold currency (The Gold African Dinar) and Sarkozi has said, in respond, that Libya is a threat to the financial security of Mankind (he meant to Australia, Canada, US, EU, Israel and other countries that are running by mafia governments who are conning others with worthless paper money and who will suffer deeply if it will be replaced with real money currency before theses countries will be ready to do so), Free housing (considered as human right, no less) and much more...

Do you know of Liberia? Bill & Co. do not speaking about it.

I do not trust most of the governments and I certainly don't trust the Cable/Satellite News media and that is why I oppose almost any policy which comes from it like copyright "protection", internet "safety" etc. etc.
