[solved]what are /etc/rc.d/desc.d for ?

I found there is a new dir under the /etc/rc.d, desc.d , why add this dir and file ? and another init.d dir

Run "service list". The descriptions of the services are saved in that dir.

Actually kevin, the main question was answered very clearly by thenktor, and deserter (who asked the question) thanked him for it:

"Run "service list". The descriptions of the services are saved in that dir."

Yes, I did suspect an aspiring spammer, so checked and found that they'd waited a week between registration and making the first post. A reply seemed worth a try. Thanks for the tip on re-tuning the BS detector. :wink:

Thanks thenktor, this little script (I assume?) is very useful. Is this Salix original? I've never used it or seen this before.

Well maybe it is a genuine post. It can be hard to tell these days. If so, the combination of unhelpfulness, snottiness and sheer inaccuracy merits some other messageboard term you may know.
