Ubuntu chooses Wayland over X11

It looks Ubuntu wants to take over leadership in linux innovation. After switching to Unity now comes the time to get rid of X:

Hate it or love it but all other distros will benefit from that, I guess.

That is indeed a very interesting move. But I don't think they'll be able to make the move very soon. From what I've seen/read, I'm guessing it will be at least another two years until wayland will actually be usable.
