I have just tried to modify some documentation in the wiki but after login I was informed that I was not allowed to edit. Is this intentional?

I believe it is a temporary measure while some adjustments are made.

Yes, we're in the process of moving to a new server and we don't want to move the wiki database and then have some edits made in the old server and have to move it again...
