Here is a preview of the new LiveCD installer I'm working on while JRD is working on SalixLive-13.0 alpha iso and while Shador is working on its new grub boot menu.
If you already want to play with it, download the tar.gz file & extract it in some directory, then in command line, as root, cd to the usr/sbin sub-directory of the extracted archive & execute this command: ./salix-gui-installer
It is important you execute it from that directory because a strategic few files are "relative path" dependent for the moment.
Of course this won't do anything to your system, it hasn't got any teeth yet, it is just for previewing purpose. But you still must be root or the installer won't be able to detect your hard drives (plus, you won't be able to start it anyways...)

Re: Salix LiveCD installer
The front end is completely finished now. Posted the new version today:
http://salix.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc ... z?view=tar
Please test it as much as possible on all kinds of settings to see if all partitions are correctly recognized & if subsequent behavior is as expected.
Play with it as much as you can, it will not install anything on your system. It will only collect data & recapitulate your choices.
Same instructions as above: download the tar.gz file & extract it in some directory, then in command line, as root, cd to the usr/sbin sub-directory of the extracted archive & execute this command: ./salix-gui-installer
