[Solved] ratpoison 13.37 ISO

Post by SabreWolfy »

Downloaded salix-ratpoison-13.37.iso from sourceforge via this link [1] at Distrowatch and opened it with file-roller 2.30.2 on CrunchBang linux (Debian Squeeze). Created a FAT32 partition as the only partition on 2GB flash drive and copied the contents of the ISO (folders [BOOT], isolinux, kernels and salix and four files) to the flash drive. However, the instructions here [2] indicate that there should be a "install-on-USB.sh" file in the boot folder. There is no boot folder nor such a file anywhere in the ISO. Suggestions?

Can't post proper URLs as this in my first post here.

Those instructions are for a Live CD. The Ratpoison iso is not a Live CD, it's an installation CD. If you want to install the ratpoison edition using a USB stick, you'll need to follow these instructions: http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/I ... _USB_stick
