There is.
In fact an alpha has been made to tests some rudimentary things. Tested by the team. A lot of tiny errors were found and to be corrected.
For now, the last problem to make a beta release is the Salix Live Installer that should be rewritten.

Just want you to understand that for some people the Live CD is as important as the installation CD.
