Hi everybody
I use a Logitech webcam with internal microphone. Works perfectly
under Salix 13.37 if running "guvcview" (wxcam cannot handle the
audio from the webcam), available in the repos of Salix 13.37.
Under Salix 14, no "guvcview" in the repos (I would like to upgrade
Salix from 13.37 to 14).
I tried to install from source, but... the usual cascade of missing
dependencies... I gave up.
Does someone know how to install guvcview by hand ?

Re: Webcam applications
Looking at the slackbuilds page (http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.0/ ... /guvcview/) , the dependencies are:
- PortAudio
- ffmpeg
You can install these from Gslapt. After that, install guvcview from Sourcery and it works fine for me
Alternatively, you can use other softwares (See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/We ... our_webcam )
Hope this helps!

Re: Webcam applications
Thank you kcirick: problem solved.
ffmpeg was native, PortAudio installed ok with gslapt.
I never used sorcery (just discovering it !); worked
perfectly at first attempt.
Thanks & bye
