AMD driver installation

I have test notebook with ati card. How can I successfully install amd driver? I downloaded driver, unzip but I cannot finish installation process. Any help is appreciated.

I must confess to install amd driver for Slackel, not for Salix. But in installation instructions there are described some dependencies, but packages I cannot find. Has anybody amd driver installed? Is it possible to install amd driver in Slackel? Thank you.

I would like to know how to create symlink in slackware. Thank you.

The same as in any other Linux:

ln -s path/to/what/you-want-to-link-to path/to/symlink

see man ln

I always get the arguments the wrong way round.

Sorry, but this is an invalid question. You should know what you want to symlink and where to symlink it to.

To put it another way, why do you want to create a symlink? Does it have something to do with the video driver?
