Fpit

Post by m1rr0r5h4d35 »

It's an old driver, but fpit is something that I have found myself needing from time to time. Maybe if it could be packaged for the repos? It is getting harder for me to track this down as time moves on, so, I don't know. Maybe it's something not enough people need. It's just one of those things that when you need it, you can never find it, it seems.

If you are able to find it and build it, then save a copy of the package in your /home for future use. Or you could suggest to gapan to be the person to maintain that package for Salix, of course it would have to be built to the Salix standards:

This seems to be the latest source (from 2011):

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/drive ... 4.0.tar.gz

It builds easily enough here, but I've no way of testing it. It also seems by the nature of the hardware this is for, a 64 bit package doesn't really make sense. The autogen script doesn't put everything in the right places for an official package, but it doesn't matter for home consumption.

I'd suggest keeping a copy of that tarball somewhere safe in case it becomes unobtainable online.
