Alejandro's proposal looks nice, but it is too dark for a wallpaper. I think it would be better if the background blue-ish colors were a little lighter, pretty much as in current 14.2's default wallpaper. For me at least, too bright and too dark wallpapers are both very uncomfortable for a desktop background. But then again, opinions are like... you know... we all have one.

P.S. Isn't funny? Salix is so ridiculously rock-stable and functioning, therefore we are talking about... the next wallpaper, since there is basically nothing else to talk about. The operating system itself has no real issues whatsoever, to the point you forget it is there, and you start arguing about the wallpaper or if Firefox ESR should be replaced by Firefox Quantum.

I agree. Although I love the logo at bottom right, I'm not wild about the blue background.It's something about the texture as well as the tone.

I held off using this background for two years because you promised to use it on the next release

I do like this one. Alejandro had it basically right, but the lightening improved it. Not too 'busy' so items laid on it will be clear, and it maintains the leaf theme. My only criticism is is is a bit bland, but perhaps that's a necessary thing in something to suit all-comers.

There are some "what makes a good wallpaper" requirements regardless of your personal preferences.

1. It shouldn't be disturbing ("restless")
2. It shouldn't have too strong/distracting colors
3. It should be dark, but not too dark (because of desktop icons).

I like this wallpaper and will switch to it if it is not the default.
