Salix-current?

Sometimes you want to have newer software that Salix 14.2 or Slackware 14.2 do not offer, but Slackware-current offers that piece of software. But if you want Slapt-get or Slapt-src then the only choice is Slackel. But some like Salix more then Slackel. So will there be a Salix-current?

No. Slackel is fine for that purpose.

For any practical purposes Slackel is Salix-current.

As gapan said slackel is salix-current. Changing the name do not offer anything more.
Slackel is a laboratory testing environmment for upcoming stable releases of salix. Including live isos since slackel is a live iso with a gui installer in all languages now. It is complete, user can choose language, locale, time zone, keyboard at installation time no matter what language boot the live iso.
Slackel exists since 2000 and i cannot drop my "child" and change its name. :)
So both benefit one from the other.
New tools has been developed and tested like gui installer in usb and creation of persistent file, and multiple iso gui installer of slackel and salix 32 and 64 bit iso images on usb, choosing the language, time zone, locale, keyboard, user like to boot every iso exist in usb.
And really is too difficult to keep stable a distro based in current tree of slackware where things change every time and third party applications break quite often.

gapan and dj, that's what I always assumed/presumed. :) Wish we could notify Distrowatch of that so they take Salix off the dormant list.
