they are external usb hard disks, so i simply connect them and an icon appears on PCmanFM.. then i simply click on them and they are mounted.
after this the drive is mounted on /media/x, but normal users still can't write on it.
I wasn't sure what to look for in dmesg, so i rebooted with the external disk connected (usb). I attach the whole dmesg:
