(Solved) Problem with cursor placement in Salix KDE.

Post by loukingjr »

Ever since I installed Salix KDE I've had this issue. It's probably something simple and forgive me if it's been answered already somewhere. I couldn't find it.

The cursor in the Konsole terminal is approximately 8 characters to the right of where it should be, and I don't know how to fix it. :(

Could it have something to do with the font that you're using?

I don't think so. As I said it has done it since I first installed it which I assume would of been the default font. I can try and change the font.

apparently it was the font. the default was Terminus. I switched it to Monospace and it's fine now.

thanks

That is strange. Terminus is the default font and it works fine here. But the font shown in your screenshot is not terminus, so I'm not really sure what's happening here.

neither am I. I just re-opened Konsole to change it back to see if changing it back was any different. Turns out it didn't keep my settings and reverted back to Terminus, which is still funky.

hmmm, Terminus was set at 10 pt which is where I had the problem. I switched it to 9 point and now it's fine. beats me.

Same thing happened here from a LiveCD install on a friend's computer. Got 'fixed' the same way as you.

Yep, same problem with my KDE install from LiveCD.
Just changed Terminus font to 12pt in Terminal Settings and all is fine.... I also use Yakuake drop down which was also adjusted..
