Keep in mind that as SAMBA basic is set up.. there is not an eye to network security.
You may want to look into securing your SAMBA setup by modifying the smb.conf

Some Users and networks require more security then others. A large degree of your security outside your LAN comes from your IP router to the internet and your OS Firewall program.
SAMBA is more concerned with your LAN usually.
