Post by Willow »

I went down 13.37 Salix iso KDE (32 bit) and add it to a usb using Yumi.
I created on my hard drive 3 partitions (the first for windows, the second for personal data and the third 3 in ext4 and one swap).
I boot , however, salix does not recognize ext4, but deepin live cd (usb) recognize this partition if i want install it on hd. :?:
Help. suggestion. thanks

Welcome to Salix!

When you say Salix does not recognise ext4, do you mean the Salix KDE on your usb doesn't recognise that partition on your hard drive? How are you trying to access the partition? Ext4 is supported by Salix ...

Does the Salix on your usb work well in general, apart from this problem? The reason I ask is that I'm not sure if this way of installing Salix on a usb stick will work. Maybe it's not a problem, but it could be.

What is Yumi? Whatever it is, that's is most probably your problem. If you want to make a usb drive with the iso, you need to follow the instructions in the wiki.

Yumi is a new thing from these people to allow you to put more than one Linux on a usb stick:

... but it probably doesn't work for Salix.

However, Salix offers excellent CJK support, amongst other things, and is worth a usb stick all to itself!

Do you mean a Dell 5100 with a Broadcom Wireless card? If so, this is the way:

Thanks. I will read with attention. However, I used Sourcery and appears broadcom-sta 5.100.82.38 for my card (it is the same as that site) and afeter when :end at the terminal: <<make: *** / lib/modules/2.6.37.6-smp/build : No such file or directory. Stop. fakeroot - broadcom-sta.SlackBuild sh Error ...>> :!:

You need to install the kernel-source package

Code: Select all

root[rich]# slapt-get -i kernel-source
Then try installing the broadcom-sta package again with sourcery
