Hi,

You can install tetex :

Code: Select all

# slapt-get -i tetex
But if you want a more powerfull LaTeX distribution, TeXLive 2009 is out and you can install it :
http://www.tug.org/texlive/acquire-iso.html
Just note everything you are doing, it can be a very usefull wiki article ;)

Are you sure tetex install LaTeX? I read the description of this package and it seems to me that tetex just install TeX. I'm learning LaTeX and I don't know if TeX has the same potential.
I think I'll try to install TeXLive 2009. I don't really need it but I agree it can be an usefull article.

the better option is to install tex live.

rsamurti wrote how to install tex live on the ZW wiki (here). You can use the same procedure there to install it on salix.

enjoy texing :)
