From the changelog:
xap/xfce-4.6.1-i486-2gv.txz: Rebuilt. Upgraded exo to 0.3.106, which
fixes a bug with always mounting vfat devices with the sync option.
For those of you that use a lot FAT formatted USB drives, what do you think of this?

Re: [ALREADY SOLVED BUT...] XFCE EXO bug
I think the comment is somehow true, but lies in time and facts.
I was using my 4GB USB flash key with the XFCE bug (sync) with one partition on it (FAT32) for a while, writing far more than what was said. (I tested salix live on it, so about 550 MB copied over and over...). For now, my usb key is still working good, and I own it since 5 years.
So, ok, it was a bug, it may have shorter the life of the USB key you used while the bug was present, but not that far and not in the proportion described in the article.
