I sent him a PM at Sunday, but he hasn't responded yet
BTW, I found that there is a slackware package available from the official page so I'm going to give it a try and report back
No, I don't guess that would work. As far as I can see it's a generic tarball, not a slackware package, although it's named that way.
I remember reading about layoffs in opera about the time they decided to switch to webkit. Must have been a month ago or so. Hope ruario wasn't a part of them....
In any case, I have upgraded the package in the repos now.
Sorry, I have been away a lot as I am on parental leave with my daughter and haven't followed these things as well as I should. Opera 12.15 came out today and I have put in an update request. I also have binary packages here if anyone wants them
Oh and so far they haven't fired me. Just before I left for paternity leave I was made the team leader for the Linux/FreeBSD team. I am not the most experienced of our Linux/FreeBSD guys by a long shot but that is not what they were after when looking for a team lead.

Congratulations! Sometimes it's not just about technical knowledge but about leadership skills and team-work. A good leader can make better use of the other team members' knowledge, even when it's superior to the leader's. Congratulations and good luck, new team leader!

I would advise against using opera as a browser at this point. It seems that they have abandoned development for linux completely, as they haven't released a new version for ages. In the mean time they are releasing new versions for all other platforms all the time...
Ruario replied to my post at Linux Questions. I will check out his install instructions for Salix later since this flu shot has me
under the weather presently.
