Run "service list". The descriptions of the services are saved in that dir.deserter wrote:I found there is a new dir under the /etc/rc.d, desc.d , why add this dir and file ?
Compatibility with other distributions.deserter wrote:and another init.d dir

Actually kevin, the main question was answered very clearly by thenktor, and deserter (who asked the question) thanked him for it:
"Run "service list". The descriptions of the services are saved in that dir."

Yes, I did suspect an aspiring spammer, so checked and found that they'd waited a week between registration and making the first post. A reply seemed worth a try. Thanks for the tip on re-tuning the BS detector.

Thanks thenktor, this little script (I assume?) is very useful. Is this Salix original? I've never used it or seen this before.

@kcirick
Salix, forked from Zenwalk.
@jayseye
Well maybe it is a genuine post. It can be hard to tell these days. If so, the combination of unhelpfulness, snottiness and sheer inaccuracy merits some other messageboard term you may know.
