Revert all the packages you upgraded from slackware-current to the version in 13.0.
Perhaps recompiling exaile or some of the dependencies would make it work too.

I don't think so, but I don't really know. If you start mixing stable and current repositories, you're going to get in trouble sooner or later.

If, as you say, you use Exaile basically for listening to internet radio, there are some good alternatives to it you may want to try. One is audacious, which, if I remember correctly, is in the current repos. However, I would suggest the combination mpd + some gui client. My current preference is for sonata (compiled it myself using the build script found on slackbuilds.org). It requires python-mpd, for which I used, again, the buildscript available on slackbuilds.org).

The combination of mpd and a gui client of your choice may require some tuning to get it working (minimal though, I would say). These may not be relevant for your purposes, but among the added benefits of this setup I would mention: easy manipulation of a large music database (if you have one), album art, and lyrics support.
Using audacious, you can connect to online radio stations by pressing CTL+L (or right clicking on the main interface and choosing "Play Location" from the pop-up menu). In sonata, you can setup links to internet radio stations in the "Streams" tab (right click and choose "New" from the menu). I've tested both setups and have been using them alternatively on a FSC Amilo Pro 2030 laptop (Intel Celeron P4 @ 1400 MHz, 1 GB RAM; they work just fine on much lower specs though).
