Problem with gvfs-mount

Post by sivare »

I've been trying to mount a webdavs partition with gvfs-mount
gvfs-mount 'davs://starfish.arvixe.com:443'
and I receive this message
Error mounting location: Not a WebDAV enabled share
I've googled this without success, I've successfully mounted the same directory by ftp.

Any guide will be greatly appreciated as I didn't find much documentation on using gvfs, I'm using pcmanfm window manager.

Well, for starters pcmanfm is not a window manager. Not really sure if
you meant to tell us what window manager you're using or if you're using
pcmanfm the file manager.

In any case, have you tried using gigolo?

Sorry for my mistake, I'm using pcmanfm as file manager and in the project webpage (http://wiki.lxde.org/en/PCManFM) it says that supports seamless access to remote filesytems with gvfs, and it mentions webdav, so that's why I become aware of gvfs in the first place... I'll search about gigolo right now but I would love to use gvfs if its already installed in my system. Thanks a lot.

So, are you sure it is a webdav share?

Yes, not absolutely sure, but almost. Its a web disk from my hosting, when I enable it cpanel shows some instructions for configuring it, but even if it recognizes linux only have instructions for nautilus (with the address davs://starfish.arvixe.com:2078) and konqueror (with the address webdavs://starfish.arvixe.com:2078) I've tried both without success.
