constant Firefox and Java upgrades

Post by bhyeti »

With the constant changes coming from Firefox, Java, etc, is it possible to keep these update
with Sourcery using the current '"arch" Slackbuilds?

i.e.

Code: Select all

I'm not sure about that, but anyway, there's no need from a security point of view. Salix repos provide the ESR versions of Firefox, precisely because it was such a pain having a new version every week. I'm also not sure what the situation is with Java, but again, you're certainly ok from a security point of view with whatever's in the repositories.

Thanks, I know we're aiming for stable but those are the only 2 that come to mind as for as constant changes.

And OpenDffice too, if you use it.

I'm sure we could add more to this list. :D
