Remember there is already SimplyMEPIS. I don't think we want to sound too close to that.

I'm starting to like this one. We could have fancy 23 logos everywhere :) And a cool german C64 soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWAGvFGl6T8 :ugeek:

True...

But SimplyNux or SimpLinux do not sound like SimplyMepis
-> 3 syllables against 4..
-> Mepis doesn't mean a thing, Linux does...

Also Simplicity domains are already all taken... Not so for SimplyNux of SimpLinux

Last but not least, SimplyNux/SimpLinux convey the same message in many different languages.

:D

To be honest: IMHO none of the suggested names so far are as good as "Zenwalk" :roll:

EDIT: We should not concentrate on a name that has the "simple thing" on first sight. It should be more like Zenwalk: the coolness/simplicity should more sound in the subtext/subtitle. I don't know how to explain this in english :oops:
You know: Zenwalk -> Zen computing -> Zen buddhism way of life... -> easy living....

EDIT2: Slothware - life made easy ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sloth

Believe me, back when Zenwalk was Minislack, we had a poll about possible names, and Zenwalk was a strange sound in many people's ears (including mine). It's in your head, that's all ;).

But I think that I like non techy names. We don't want to be geeks, we want to be cool guys 8-) So let's remove all the Linux, OS, *ix from the name and think of something stylish.

So true... I really thought it was weird back then.

If you really want to mimic Zenwalk... there is EasyPath... (not that I think it is a good idea though...) :lol:

Fine...

But since I really do like SimplyNux, I went ahead & bought it this morning.

I will use it for a professional project. ;)
