RPM based distributions have large repositories of binary prebuilt packages with dependency information. RPM packages are also supported in slackware based distributions through rpm2tgz and rpm2targz. RPM is also well accepted throughout the world. Most software is prepared for Windows, Mac, Debian and RPM-based (Redhat/Suse etc), but not always for Slackware.
Is it possible to use RPM repositories to get and install packages in SalixOS?
Just a thought. Please ignore if completely non-sensical.
Can one use rpm repositories?
