You can get it here: http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2/iso/
You can check the ChangeLog and PACKAGES.TXT there: http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2/
Please note that the ChangeLog is only that of the Slint repository. All patches from Slackware64-4.2 and Salix64-14.2 as of now are also applied (and folks who already installed a previous beta are notified of all changes as well).
The Greek, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal) and Spanish (Latin America) translations are complete, thanks to Dimitris, Hugo and Diantre.
Oh and we have now a translator to Japanese: welcome on board, Keiichi!
Keiichi (here known as balloon) already translated the man pages included in the packages pkgtools and slackpkg: this will also benefit Slackware users.
I began to set up a wiki: http://slint.fr/wiki/en/start
It uses DokuWiki as does SlackDocs. More on that later.
I tagged this ISO "beta3" but you can consider it as a release candidate.
Please test! I need more feedback.
Cheers,
Slint64-14.2beta3
Re: Slint64-14.2beta3
This is a Salix forum...
For now Saint has problems that Japanese can not be used with the installer.
However Salix can be solved with Live installer. My Japanese site is mainly focused on Live installer.
(Recent Linux users touching from the GUI are not familiar with the CLI installer and sometimes shy away)
If that part is also reflected in Slint, Slint seems to be able to acquire a wide range of users in more languages.

Yes, thanks to gapan for hosting it.balloon wrote:This is a Salix forum...
Maybe Slint will needs its own forum in the future. When we will have users
Maybe that would be simpler than to modify the installer to be able to display CJK languages in the CLI, and more attractive for many users. I am sure that I would get help from gapan and djemos to learn how to do that. But I have first to concentrate on preparing the release (mostly writing documentation). Then I will look at that. For now Slint has problems that Japanese can not be used with the installer.

Re: Slint64-14.2beta3
Yup. I think that's fine.
At that time the Salix installer will be more comfortable.

Re: Slint64-14.2beta3
Installed Slint on my Thinkpad T61 laptop, it works very well: simply text installer, many software default and beautiful set of customized desktop environment (now I'm using Wmaker). Unfortunately, the reboot shows problems and the process booting stop it at restart.

Hi ginonarni,
I need some details to investigate this issue:ginonarni wrote:Unfortunately, the reboot shows problems and the process booting stop it at restart.
- Do you use the display manager to start windowmaker, or do you type "startx" on a black screen?
- How do you reboot: using the "Logout" command from the panel's menu, or do you first quit WindowMaker then reboot from the display manager, or do you use the ACPI keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+Del)?
- What happens exactly when you trigger the reboot?
- I don't understand what you mean writing "the process booting stop it at restart. Could you elaborate?
Re: Slint64-14.2beta3
1)I used the display manager
2)I think I used the logout command but I don't remember very well, maybe I used both
3)The reboot started just few lines and stopped it early
4)The reboot process started few lines and stopped it early
