Why does testdisk pull in a qt dependency?

Not a bug. The testdisk package includes qphotorec, which needs qt.

No. Testdisk's developer puts it in the same source tarball and builds it along with everything else. This is not debian/ubuntu. We don't split stuff into a million different packages.
