Sound Issue on Dell Inspiron 14 3452

Hello! I installed salix on my old Dell Inspiron 14 3452 and I am having an issue with the sound not working on my laptops hardware.

I followed the instructions on the link below and created a sound.conf file in the listed directory

i've added a module option in /etc/modprobe.d, but it doesn't apply at boot. is there a initrd or initramfs that i have to update to make this work? Or if i incorrectly tried to modify the config files, what should I do?

As far as I can see this laptop probably has a sound card that is too new for the5.15 kernel that is in 15.0. You can try the kernel from current, it might fix it for you.
