Claws-mail

Post by Van_Vinkle »

I know that in the Salix planet only security reasons can change the version of a package.

Claws mail has a more recent version (4.3.0) than the one in the repositories (which is 4.1.1, two years old) and, as far as I know, there have not been security issues, but there are some changes that I would like to have.

If a Salix warrior or wizard could make a Salix package, I'll be very grateful.

Claws-mail can be found at https://claws-mail.org/releases.php

Thanks for your attention

Does this mean that https://people.salixos.org/gapan/claws-mail/ is not yet the new package?

Package upgraded.

But it does not run. Launching from console:

Code: Select all

 $ claws-mail
claws-mail: symbol lookup error: claws-mail: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_pointer
:(

Ah, that's my bad, and that's the reason why I haven't uploaded it to the repos yet, I haven't thoroughly tested it.

I built this package on a system with an upgraded gtk3 (version 3.24.43), which is included in the xfce 4.20 repos (see viewtopic.php?t=8806). I will build new ones that will be using the older gtk3 3.24.31 that is in the standard repositories.

(that means, if you upgrade your system to xfce 4.20 + updated dependencies using those repos, that claws mail package will work)
