Hi, its me again :-)

I tried another time booting SalixLive from USB stick. Although I made a "new" stick, there is no change.
I also have a clonezillaLive USB stick which boots perfectly on the same machine.

I cannot find a way to key in the "acpi=off" command within the startup sequence.

Although the keyboard layout of the HP Omen seems to be different to others (dedicated to gamers (I am not)) but
even with attached "normal" keyboards, no chance!

Is there a way I can modify the startup sequence by adding the "acpi=off" command prior booting?

Thanks.

Well,

Ii gave it some further tries.

I found the elio.conf which I modified, but neither "acpi=off", nor "noapic" or both together worked.
"acpi=off" always results in a freeze when trying to access the graphics controller (amdgpu).
"noapic" at least works in a way that the installer gets over the graphic controller, but runs immediately into restart when
runlevel 4 is invoked.
Switching to "runlevel=3" gets a bit further bit also ends in a restart.

Well, seems like the BIOS of that specific model is a bit weird and its unlikely HP will fix it.
So, I remain with my (minitower) PC for Salix and the laptop for Win10 .
