Filebot Won't Work
Filebot Won't Work
Try as I might I cannot get Filebot to work correctly in Salix Linux. I installed the Salix repos version - wouldn't work correctly. So I uninstalled that and installed the Flatpak. Now Filebot opens, but as soon as I select the file opener there is a spinning disk logo and the app locks up. So I tried opening via the file manager, Thunar but wouldn’t cooperate. I gave this behaviour some thought and decided perhaps some Java component was missing, so I loaded up every Java file I could find in the Salix repos, but again no success. Baffled. I've managed to solve every other problem I've encountered with recalcitrant software, but if I can't get this to work it's likely to be a deal killer.
Re: Filebot Won't Work
The flatpak works for me.
But, install the flatseal flatpak first. Then launch flatseal and allow filebot to have access to all user files first. Then it works fine as far as I can see.

Re: Filebot Won't Work
Thank you for your kind help. I wasn't aware of the existence of flatseal, so this gives me something to work with. Thank you.
Re: Filebot Won't Work
Thanks again for your kind help. Still wouldn't work for me I'm afraid. Filebot wouldn't connect with files somehow despite all permissions being correctly set. I'm going to fully reinstall Salix (reinstall was needed anyway for other reasons) so I'll try again with a vanilla Salix install. Could well be my tinkering that has thrown up this issue.
