my standard PC runs quite well with the 5.15.x kernel. Other than newer hardware support, is there any need to upgrade the kernel?
No, not really.

Maybe its a solution for my laptop not booting salix at all... but my old BIOS PC does fine as it is.
It should be. Does the installer boot? If so, you could try replacing the kernel packages in the iso using isomaster. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for a new iso.
Which I'm a little bit late with. I was left without an internet connection at home since Christmas morning and couldn't do anything about it.
Hi gapan, thanks for the new update. Is there a chance you can make a new ISO with newer kernel? I have problem to boot It in an hp laptop with i5 1135g7, some times boot but It freeze or not boot at all, One time i ha e received a message like to fast for a process....
I Will try tò upload to the new kernel with and older laptop for a try, i have to study a bit how to do this (i'm coming from Mint and Debian based distro, but i like very much the philosophy of the Slackware base and the usefull tools of Salix). I wanna try to use another desktop envirowment with touchpad gesture like cinnamon or gnome, or give a try to KDE.
I'm working on it. I'm trying to include more updates/new features in the new iso, it's not only just the kernel. I'm hoping that I'll be able to release a beta sometime this week.
