I just installed Slackel last night and am unable to edit the Mint main menu. Trying to do so flashes a window and automatically closes it. Using Mozo at the command line as a normal user results in an error. If I sudo to it then it'll bring up an editor but it'll close with an error if I actually try to open a submenu. Basically I just wanted to add the Waterfox browser to the Internet menu where Firefox was. I created a .desktop file for it and added the categories: Network and WebBrowser to the file but logging off and back on doesn't seem to update the desktop database so the menu stays the same. I have a functional desktop icon and can add it to the panel - just not the main menu Internet grouping.
Is this a known bug? Does something else have to be installed? I'm new to Slackel/Salix/Slackware and don't generally do much to configure Mate.
Mate menu editing
Re: Mate menu editing
Can you post the contents of the .desktop file you created? Where did you put it?
Re: Mate menu editing
I got the application to show up in the Internet submenu. It helps when you disable "NoDisplay"...
The Edit Menus button still doesn't work (or the Preferences/Main Menu button) but I guess I don't need it.
