Compiz (noob help)

Post by darkreaper476 »

Hi, I'm new to Salix OS and I think its awesome, BUT I'm used using Compiz in other distros.. lol

I seen that compiz is in the main repos but CCSM (the compiz manager) is not.... then when I start compiz via terminal, there are no window decorations. I can fix this if I have CCSM.

any repos? /help lol

THANKS!

@damNageHack
Do you really think you can configure compiz efficiently without ccsm?
I would like to hear how you do it.

ccsm is a very nice configuration interface for compiz-fusion. I have never used compiz without it.

I think you misunderstood. Did you read the links from me? Where do I write that ccsm is not needed?

Good luck with it SoleSoul. There is other packages missing for compiz to work on Slackware... Last time I tried, I had some problems with compiz on fullscreen apps, so I dropped it at the end.
Maybe if I have time one day, I can take a look and maybe make packages...

I once packaged it for Zenwalk. But nowadays that graphical stuff draining ressources isn't anymore worth the effort for me.
Maybe those leftovers can still help somebody though: http://gaia.homelinux.org/zenwalk/packa ... piz/0.8.2/
