Salix gtk-tools look like Xfce setup-tools

I suggest that the Salix gtk-tools is designed to look like the Xfce setup-tools to get a more consistent user interface. Sounds like a good idea?

IMHO the Xfce setup tools are crap

I like them in that way, that they are simple and consistent.

They are, unfortunately, also consistent in their inadequacy. Intelligent defaults should eliminate the need for most of them.
