If anyone wants the latest Gimp 2.6.9 (while we wait for it to be included) there's info on doing a slackbuild here -http://slackblogs.blogspot.com/2010/06/ ... p-269.html
Worked fine for me.

It will be included when it gets upgraded for the next version of slackware, and therefore of salix. ;)
