Nothing against ogm, but if you want to play media files on hardware players mkv is the format of choice But somehow I've thought we already have ogmtools in our repo

I know how to do it, thank you. I just wanted to say "+1 to this package" not a solution for converting my old videos.
Anyway, it's not a problem for me as I can build it myself.

But again, dvd::rip depends upon ogmtools for optimal feature-set.

And if there was a package in 13.0, why not include it in 13.1?

Doesn't dvd::rip support matroska? There is nothing you can do with ogm files and you can't do with matroska files, quite the opposite. Also, ogm files were a really ugly hack, which is now abandoned of course and you really shouldn't be creating any more of them. If dvd::rip doesn't support matroska, I would consider it dated to say the least.

Because its packager abandoned the package.
