* It was not possible for me to login to KDM. I tried to change the password in console with passwd, but no success either.

* Please consider adding the compact option to lilo.conf, maybe possible then to disable in LiloSetup if there is an issue? But compact should be default. The boot of another distribution kernel took also very long.

If you did use LiloSetup which is part of the Live Installer routine, you should have noticed that you have the possibility to edit LiloSetup conf file with any customization you wish. You could very simply add your compact option there & then if you so wish.

What really matters is where you are going, not where you come from.

Another suggestion for the next iso: use the grub KDE boot menu splash that was on alpha 2 & that is on the KDE SVN branch of Salix Live. ;)

How to reproduce:
. xfce was the prior default WM
. Remount /home (just in the installer)
. try to login to installed kde live
. message that default WM could not be changed from xfce
:?:
[ edit - I can also try to switch it manually in the menu, but same effect ]

No problem about adding manually the compact option.
But I am wondering which "crappy" BIOS would have problems with that option.
