Uni Wifi network

I remember many years ago how many problems and issues we used to have at my old uni. That's when wifi was just coming out as everyone was still on 802.11b cards even PCMCIA cards.

It's no better. Connection is usually very flaky, at least if you're not the only one around, which rarely happens when you really need it.

That aside I'm having sound issues now.... I get sound through the speakers but nothing through the headphone/mic (combined) socket.

Interesting, having the opposite on my Lenovo X121e. Headphone works, mic, which I don't need, doesn't. Possibly because the machines are quite new.
But I can't test anything anymore for the time being, as the BIOS with its flaky UEFI mode, which they seem unable or too lazy to fix as there are enough reports, decided to give up on me after like 1 month. Laptop turns on (including backlight and everything), but nothing happens (black screen). Great, definitely wanted to do that RMA. ^^
