Sorry i don't understand. You mean to run a live cd and want to execute install_on_USB.sh on another USB_stick?
install_on_USB.sh is to run it from a hard disk salix installed system having copied first the iso files on usb_stick to make it bootable.
Explain the whole picture. What system a user run and what he wants to do.

Like other users, I have sometimes had trouble with permissions when mounting partitions - not necessarily removable media, not necessarily in relation to putting Salix Live on a USB stick. I think this is because of the problem with udisks and polkit described above. At least, that would explain why I don't seem to be able to do anything about it when it happens.

EDIT
That is to say, you mount the partition, but you don't have x permissions (possibly w too, I don't remember) and chmod or being root don't help: permission is still denied.
The only solution appears to be to unmount the partition and then remount manually from command line.


It is thus not a bug with Live. It is a problem with the way udisks is set up, and there is nothing much we can do about it (according to gapan, see above).
