Yes, OK, but I don't see what the appeal is. I installed it. Some things don't work (like viewing man pages). How is this a replacement for a simple text editor like leafpad? And how is this a replacement for a lightweight IDE like geany?

I was just browsing in Knoppix KDE and found the default file manager there is Dolphin.
Then I remembered to have seen that in my Salix working box. No idea how it got there.
Opening it now I see that it has split panel possibility and a lot of other niceties.
Could that be a FM for this fluxbox?

Of course not. It would drag the entire KDE with it.
