We discussed (with Akuna) the use of plymouth for the Live CD, but as I worked already on splashy and it's working and do not need many modifications, we kept it for this version.
We would like to try to include Plymouth in the next version if possible as it seems nicer than splashy. So your knowledge could help greatly. There is no problem in modifying the LLS, I already modified them in many parts

I'll release an ISO during this week unless I found more bugs and you will be able to take a look in my initramfs and scripts. I'm also trying make a fastboot, this will be nice for everyone.
